Captain Cook’s Blog is a website containing information about health and food safety. Our goal is to Explore, Excite, Educate and provide fun educational resources both in and out of the classroom.

Here you will find;

·     Information on Classes, Merchandise, Parties, TV and Radio Appearances and other facts about us.

·     Articles, posts and comments on the state of the food industry and how it affects how and what we feed ourselves and our children.

Who are we?

The journey which led to Captain Cooks Culinary Academy begins over 30 years ago on both sides of the Atlantic. Karen Whitehead grew up in Vermont and her earliest memories of cooking came from spending time in the kitchen with her English Grandmother. Meanwhile In England, Jon Whitehead was also being schooled in the kitchen by his Latvian Grandmother. Karen went on to get her Masters Degree in Hotel Restaurant Management at UNLV and began her 18 year long career in hotel and restaurant industry. Jon went on to study Marine Biology before coming to the US in 1991. They met in 1999 and found a common interest in their love for cooking. Now with 2 small children they began to look for a business that combined all their passions for cooking, healthy eating and the environment and it was then that the idea for Captain Cooks was born.

TESTIMONIALS

Thanks for doing a great job with Alex’s party, she had a great time and said it was her best party ever. Since I have outsourced a lot of parties I can say that you made it so easy, all I had to do was make the goodie bags. It was awesome    Amy W - Carmel Valley

Just a note to say what an incredible job you did with my daughters birthday party!! I was so impressed with how the time was spent, your preparation and attention to detail and the level of service and supervision for all 12 girls. All the other Moms remarked on what a great party it was. Thank you SO MUCH !!! - Misty T, San Diego
